Fit

The boiled wool dungarees fit true to size to slightly large. The 2-way adjustable straps allow the dungarees to be adapted over an entire season – without them immediately becoming too small. The high bib ensures that the tummy and back remain covered even during active play.

Unlike knitwear, boiled wool hardly stretches – the material is dimensionally stable and retains its fit even after many washes. The cuffs on the trouser legs close tightly and prevent drafts from entering.

Our tip: If in doubt between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one – the adjustable straps compensate for the difference and the dungarees will accompany your child for longer in everyday life.

Materials & Care

The boiled wool dungarees are made from 100% organic virgin wool from controlled organic livestock farming – free from pesticides, synthetic dyes, and chemical finishes. Through the boiling process, the wool fibers are matted together under heat, pressure, and moisture. The result is a dense, robust fabric that keeps out wind and repels moisture from the outside.

Boiled wool has a pronounced natural self-cleaning ability. Dirt and odors often disappear simply by airing out the garment in the fresh air – frequent washing is rarely necessary and preserves the material in the long term.

Care tips:
  • Regularly air out – preferably in fresh air, not in direct sunlight
  • Treat light stains locally with a damp cloth
  • If necessary, hand wash with lukewarm water and wool detergent
  • For drying, lay flat on a surface, do not hang
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not iron, do not bleach
  • Occasionally, a lanolin bath renews the natural waterproofing effect of boiled wool

With proper care, the boiled wool dungarees remain dimensionally stable and functional for several seasons – a piece worth passing on.
