Wool Baby Overalls – the right choice for every season
A good baby overall accompanies your little one almost daily during their first months – in the stroller, in a carrier, on walks, or at home. In this collection, you will find baby overalls made from pure wool in various thicknesses and cuts: boiled wool overalls for autumn and winter, fine knit overalls for transitional periods, and lightweight rompers for indoors and warmer seasons.
Which overall suits which season?
- Boiled Wool Overalls (with zipper, tie-fastening, with teddy hood): the warm outdoor models for autumn and winter. Boiled wool is naturally water- and dirt-repellent; the model with a teddy hood is the warmest option for particularly cold days.
- Fine Knit Overall with Olive Wood Buttons: a lightweight knit overall made from merino wool for transitional periods – ideal as a layer over a bodysuit or as a comfortable indoor option.
- Cashmere Baby Romper: particularly soft and delicate romper made from cashmere – a classic gift for a newborn.
- Baby Romper: the uncomplicated summer and indoor companion made from light natural fibers.
Why wool for babies?
Wool is temperature-regulating: it warms in the cold and cools in warmer temperatures without causing heat build-up. It is breathable, wicks moisture away, and neutralizes odors – properties that prove particularly useful in the first year of life when babies often sleep in strollers or need to be kept warm in carriers. Our yarns are mulesing-free, tested for harmful substances (REACH), and suitable for direct skin contact.
Materials at a glance
- Boiled wool: dense, felted wool fabric – warm, dimensionally stable, and water-repellent without chemical impregnation
- Fine knit made from merino wool: light, soft, and breathable – ideal as a mid-layer or for transitional periods
- Cashmere: particularly fine, soft fiber – warms with low weight
- Sizes 50/56 to 98/104 – from newborn to kindergarten age
Frequently Asked Questions
Which overall is suitable for which temperatures?
Boiled wool overalls are ideal for autumn and winter and cover the classic outdoor range. Models with teddy hoods and cuffs are the warmest option for particularly cold days. Fine knit overalls made from merino wool are suitable for transitional seasons or as an indoor option, while lightweight rompers and one-pieces are perfect for indoors and milder days.
Are boiled wool overalls water-repellent?
Yes. Through the felting process, the wool fibers bond into a dense fabric that allows light rain and snow to bead off – without any chemical coating. In prolonged or heavy rain, an additional rain layer is recommended.
From which size are the baby overalls available?
Our baby overalls are available in sizes 50/56 to 98/104 – from newborn up to kindergarten age. Not every model is available in all sizes. Exact availability can be found on the respective product page.
Does wool itch on sensitive baby skin?
No. We exclusively use extra-fine natural yarns such as merino wool and cashmere. These fibers are much finer than traditional wool and feel pleasantly soft on the skin. Direct skin contact – even with rompers or fine knit overalls – is completely comfortable.
How do I properly care for a wool baby overall?
Wool rarely needs washing – usually airing it out in fresh air is enough, and surface dirt can simply be brushed off. If needed, hand wash or use a wool cycle at a maximum of 30°C with a mild wool detergent, then dry flat. Never tumble dry to maintain the garment’s shape.
