Boiled Wool: Natural Weather Protection Made from Pure Virgin Wool
What is boiled wool?
Boiled wool – or simply "Walk" – is a traditional wool fabric created through a process called felting: A knitted or woven wool fabric is compressed with the addition of water, heat, and movement until the individual fibers interlock. The result is a particularly dense, robust, and warming fabric that fully retains the natural properties of virgin wool.
The properties of boiled wool clothing
Windproof and water-repellent
Due to the dense structure of boiled wool, raindrops bead off the surface without penetrating. At the same time, no cold wind can penetrate the material – ideal conditions for wet and cold days in autumn and winter.
Warming and breathable
Virgin wool insulates excellently and keeps body heat where it is needed. At the same time, wool is breathable and wicks moisture outwards, so you neither get cold nor overheat.
Self-cleaning and odor-neutral
Wool hardly absorbs odors and regulates itself. Often, it is enough to air out the garment instead of washing it – this protects the fibers and extends their lifespan.
Boiled wool clothing for the whole family
In our collection, you'll find boiled wool clothing for all ages: from overalls and suits for the little ones to jackets and trousers for children, and even models for women and men. All pieces are made from pure virgin wool and designed for daily use.
Care of boiled wool clothing
Boiled wool is easy to care for. Usually, airing it out in the fresh air is enough to refresh it. If necessary, boiled wool can be washed on a wool wash cycle with wool detergent at a maximum of 30 °C – do not spin and dry flat. This preserves its shape and the fabric retains its natural properties.
Häufig gestellte Fragen
Was ist Wollwalk?
