Boiled wool is a material that does not lose its quality over time – it becomes denser with wear and retains its shape even after years. As a family knitting mill, in its fourth generation since 1928, we have developed this coat for men who want to buy a piece and simply never let go of it.

The boiled wool coat fits true to size. The straight cut with slightly dropped shoulders leaves room under the coat for a sweater or jacket – without adding bulk. The knitted cuffs fit snugly at the wrist and keep the cut neat even when moving.

Boiled wool has no stretch reserve – the fabric is tightly felted and does not give. Therefore, it is important that the shoulder area fits well. In the torso area, the coat can have some leeway, which corresponds to the classic coat cut. Those with broader shoulders or who want to wear the coat over a jacket should choose one size larger.

Our tip: For everyday wear over a shirt or light sweater, your normal size is a good fit. If you want to wear the coat as an outermost layer in winter over thicker clothing, it is better to go one size larger – boiled wool does not give.

The coat is made from 100% merino wool from controlled organic livestock farming (kbT), GOTS certified and mulesing-free. During the felting process, the wool fibers are matted together by moisture, pressure, friction, and heat to create a dense, firm fabric – more durable and dimensionally stable than woven or knitted wool. The coat is manufactured in our own knitting factory in Germany.

Boiled wool cleans itself in many everyday situations: its dense structure hardly absorbs dirt, and odors are not retained. Simply brush out coarse dirt – this is sufficient in most cases. Washing is rarely necessary and should be carried out gently if needed.

Care tips:

• Air out in the fresh air after wearing
• Brush out coarse dirt with a soft clothes brush
• Spot clean small stains with a damp cloth
• Hand wash if necessary with a mild wool detergent, lukewarm – never hot
• Do not tumble dry – heat causes boiled wool to shrink and permanently lose its shape
• Do not iron, do not bleach
• If necessary, lanolin bath – maintains the natural water repellency of the boiled wool

A well-cared-for boiled wool coat will last for many years – and hardly change its character in the process. The fabric tends to become firmer rather than weaker.

Benefit from the speed and reliability of our shipping partner DHL. Express deliveries are only possible to addresses within Germany and will be delivered on the next working day if you place your order Monday – Friday before 12 PM. Express delivery (excluding deliveries to packing stations) is only possible on the German mainland.

Please note that orders placed on a Saturday will only be delivered on the following Tuesday – not Monday.

For express delivery, a fee of €12.90 will be charged – even if the order total exceeds €150.00 and standard shipping would therefore be free.
