Baby clothes made from natural materials – for the first years of life
Babies' skin is delicate. That's why at HALFEN, we rely on materials that are naturally skin-friendly, temperature-regulating, and durable – merino wool, boiled wool, cashmere, and alpaca. No synthetic fibers, no unnecessary additives.
Boiled wool: the classic for outdoors
Boiled wool overalls and jackets are water-repellent and warm – ideal for walks and outdoor adventures even in cool weather. The material retains warmth without restricting the baby.
Merino wool: gentle from the start
Our knitted merino wool items – trousers, bodysuits, overalls – lie directly on the skin and don't scratch. Merino regulates body temperature, absorbs moisture, and dries quickly.
Cashmere: for special moments
Our baby blankets and cashmere knitwear are the ideal gift for a birth or christening – incredibly soft and at the same time a piece that lasts a long time.
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials are used for HALFEN baby clothing?
We exclusively use natural fibers: merino wool for knitwear worn directly on the skin, boiled wool for durable outerwear, cashmere for especially soft pieces, and alpaca as an alternative for particularly sensitive skin.
From what age is HALFEN baby clothing suitable?
Our baby clothing starts at size 50/56 – from birth. Many styles are available up to size 98/104 and accompany your child through the first years.
Does merino wool itch on baby skin?
No. Merino wool has a much finer fiber diameter than regular wool and therefore does not itch. It is suitable for direct skin contact – even for sensitive babies.
How do I care for boiled wool clothing for babies?
Boiled wool garments are best washed at 30°C on a wool cycle or by hand. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat to maintain their shape. Boiled wool is easier to care for than regular wool because it is more densely felted.
Are HALFEN baby products suitable as gifts for newborns?
Yes – especially our cashmere blankets, newborn starter bundles, and boiled wool overalls are popular gifts for births or christenings. You can find a dedicated selection under gifts for newborns.
